American Legion Auxiliary

Empowering Young Women, Supporting Veterans, and Strengthening Our Community

Dedicated to Service, Education, and Patriotism

The American Legion Auxiliary is one of the nation's most respected patriotic service organizations, dedicated to supporting veterans, military families, and the communities they call home. Founded in 1919, the Auxiliary has spent more than a century honoring the sacrifices of America's service members while investing in the next generation of leaders.

As an important part of the American Legion Family, the Auxiliary carries forward a tradition of volunteerism, charitable fundraising, educational advancement, and community service. Its members share a commitment to making a meaningful difference through programs that support veterans, strengthen families, and provide opportunities for young people to succeed.

In Cedar Park, Texas, the Auxiliary's mission closely aligns with the community service and youth development efforts of American Legion Post 911, particularly through support for the Texas Girls State program and the fundraising activities that make these opportunities possible.

Investing in Tomorrow's Leaders Through Texas Girls State

One of the most important and enduring missions of the American Legion Auxiliary is its commitment to developing the next generation of American women leaders through the American Legion Auxiliary Girls State program.

Texas Girls State is a nationally recognized educational program that provides selected high school students with an extraordinary opportunity to experience the responsibilities of citizenship, public service, and government leadership.

During this immersive program, participants establish and operate a simulated state government, develop political platforms, campaign for elected positions, debate public policy, and learn firsthand how democratic institutions function. Through these experiences, students gain valuable knowledge of government while developing confidence, communication skills, teamwork, and leadership abilities.

Girls State is far more than a classroom exercise. It challenges participants to think critically, collaborate with others, make difficult decisions, and discover their potential to become leaders in their schools, communities, and future professions.

For the American Legion Auxiliary, supporting Girls State represents a direct investment in the future of our country.

Through fundraising, volunteer involvement, candidate support, and community partnerships, Auxiliary members help make it possible for deserving young women to participate in this life-changing educational experience.

Working in support of the youth leadership mission of American Legion Post 911, the Auxiliary can help expand opportunities for students throughout Cedar Park, Leander, and the surrounding communities.

Every student given the opportunity to attend Girls State represents an investment in leadership, citizenship, and the future of our nation.

Fundraising with a Purpose

Fundraising is central to the American Legion Auxiliary's ability to turn its mission into meaningful results.

Auxiliary fundraising efforts are about much more than collecting donations. They provide the financial resources necessary to support educational opportunities, assist veterans and military families, and sustain community programs that might otherwise be beyond reach.

A particularly important fundraising priority is helping provide financial support for Texas Girls State sponsorships. Each sponsorship represents an opportunity for a deserving young woman to attend a program that can shape her understanding of citizenship, leadership, and public service for years to come.

Through community fundraising events, charitable contributions, local business partnerships, and volunteer-led activities, Auxiliary members help connect the generosity of the community with programs that produce lasting benefits.

These efforts also create opportunities for residents and businesses to become directly involved in supporting local students and veterans.

Whether organizing a fundraising activity, securing a donation, coordinating volunteers, or developing relationships with community sponsors, every contribution helps strengthen the Auxiliary's mission.

Supporting Veterans and Military Families

While youth development is a major priority, the American Legion Auxiliary remains firmly committed to honoring and supporting the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

Auxiliary members recognize that military service affects entire families and that the sacrifices made by veterans and their loved ones deserve continuing recognition and support.

Through charitable initiatives, volunteer service, fundraising, and community outreach, the Auxiliary works to improve the lives of veterans and military families.

Its commitment includes helping those facing hardships, supporting veterans-related programs, recognizing military service, and ensuring that the contributions of America's veterans are remembered by future generations.

Strengthening Our Community Through Volunteerism

The American Legion Auxiliary believes that strong communities are built by people willing to give their time, talents, and resources in service to others.

Auxiliary members can make valuable contributions to the community programs and patriotic traditions supported by American Legion Post 911.

These include local veterans' recognition ceremonies, Flag Day observances, educational sponsorships, patriotic commemorations, and family-oriented events such as Breakfast with Santa.

Through participation in these activities, the Auxiliary helps bring people together while demonstrating the continuing importance of service, generosity, and community responsibility.

The Auxiliary also provides an opportunity for members to develop lasting friendships, share ideas, and work collaboratively on projects that make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Community Partnerships That Make a Difference

Successful fundraising and community programs depend on the generosity of individuals, businesses, and organizations willing to invest in their neighbors.

The American Legion Auxiliary welcomes opportunities to build relationships with local businesses and community supporters who share its commitment to veterans, education, and youth leadership.

Businesses can make a meaningful contribution through event sponsorships, charitable donations, fundraising partnerships, donated goods and services, and support for Girls State sponsorships.

These partnerships allow the Auxiliary to direct additional resources toward programs that benefit local families and students while giving participating businesses an opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to the community.

When our community comes together to support Girls State, we are not simply funding a program. We are helping prepare the next generation of women to lead.

Who Can Join the American Legion Auxiliary?

The American Legion Auxiliary welcomes eligible family members of veterans and American Legion members who share its dedication to service, patriotism, and community involvement.

Membership eligibility generally includes grandmothers, mothers, sisters, spouses, and direct and adopted female descendants of qualifying veterans or American Legion members, subject to national eligibility requirements.

Women who are eligible for membership in The American Legion based on their own military service may also qualify for Auxiliary membership.

Members bring a wide variety of experiences, skills, and interests, united by a common desire to serve veterans, support young people, and strengthen their communities.

Whether your interests include fundraising, event planning, educational programs, community outreach, or volunteer service, there are meaningful ways to contribute.

Help Us Send the Next Generation to Girls State

Every year, deserving young women have the opportunity to discover their leadership potential through Texas Girls State. However, providing these opportunities requires financial support, committed volunteers, and a community that believes in investing in its future.

The American Legion Auxiliary is an important part of that effort.

By becoming a member, supporting a fundraiser, volunteering your time, or contributing toward a Girls State sponsorship, you can help create opportunities that may influence a student's life for decades.

A single sponsorship can inspire a future teacher, attorney, military officer, public servant, business leader, or elected official.

The investment we make in our young people today helps shape the leadership of tomorrow.

Get Involved and Make a Difference

We invite residents, local businesses, and community supporters throughout Cedar Park, Leander, and the surrounding areas to learn more about the American Legion Auxiliary and its mission.

Together, we can honor those who served, strengthen our community, and help the next generation of young women achieve their full potential.
